Let's talk about the mistake of choosing a good speaker.

Mistake 3: The sound absorbent cotton in the desktop speaker does not represent the level of the grade

Many consumers believe that the speakers without sound absorbent cotton are low-grade speakers.  Sound absorbing materials only play two roles in the sound box.The first is to eliminate some resonance and dyeing of the sound box. The second is to reduce the size of the speaker appropriately. It doesn't matter which grade the speaker belongs to.

Some people think that adding filler to the speaker is a panacea, which is a big mistake. As long as the box design of the sound box speaker is reasonable. There is no obvious resonance and the box is large enough. It can be made of high-quality speakers without filling materials.

There are many examples of such success in the field of speaker production around the world. No filling material is added in the sound box, which is beneficial to the transient characteristics of the loudspeaker box. The sound box that has been carefully designed and manufactured has basically reached an ideal state when it leaves the factory. In this case, changing the presence or absence of the filling materials in the sound box. It will have a lot of effects on the replay of the sound box.

Most of these effects are negative. Too much filling materials will cause the sound to become dull during the replay, with poor transient characteristics and impotence.


Myth 4: Will wooden creative computer speakers be good

When I enter the electronic market, I always meet enthusiastic saleswomen who recommend to me what kind of wood the speakers of XXX brand are made of and how the quality is guaranteed.

Buying speakers is not buying furniture. If you buy furniture, good wood furniture can be used as an important standard to measure the quality of the product, because good wood materials mean strong, durable and even highlight the taste of the owner. However, it doesn't matter much about the home speaker system.

Because the original wood board has a resonant nature, the wood itself will produce sound when the speakers are working, which will affect the sound quality expression of the speakers. Therefore, there is no basis to say that wood speakers are good speakers.


Myth 5: Don't take the box by its appearance. The important thing is to look at the details

When we choose speakers, the most important thing is to see the production process, box material, box sealing, speaker diameter and quality, and even the frequency divider can be seen from the inversion hole.

First, look at the external bonding layer of the speaker to see whether there are obvious blisters, scratches, edge warping, etc.. Whether the joints are neat, and whether some of the plastic products of the box are rough, such as whether the pipe wall of the phase inversion tube is thick, and whether the surface is smooth.

From these subtleties, the quality of the whole box can often be positioned for the first time. In addition, carefully identify the box material from the panel joint of the speaker. If it cannot be seen from the joint, you can also use your fingers to knock on the box wall at the box cavity. If the plate is thick and the density is high, the sound should be low and there should be no obvious sense of cavity.

Finally, don't forget to take off the dust cover and check the manufacturing process of the horn, especially the manufacturing process around the voice coil cover protruding from the middle of the horn. If it is not well glued, you can often see traces left after the glue dries; Check whether the screws fixing the horn are damaged. If they are, they are not installed by the machine. The quality must be discounted.

During the sound test, adjust the volume button to at least 3/4 of the position to see if the power is enough or if there is distortion. At the same time, touch the sound box with your hand. If you feel that there is wind blowing out behind the box (except for the box hole), it means that the sound box is not well sealed.
